The In-Betweens

Nearly five years ago, I created
this blog with the tagline,

The beautiful, the ordinary, and
everything in between.

When people ask,

What do you write about on
your blog?

I generally smile and answer,

Life.

Life, whose ordinary moments
hold a sweetness and a grace
that I miss when I don't take
the time to truly consider them.

Life's graph features highs and
lows, but the majority of it is a
an unwavering flat line that
connects the two extremes.

It's here, in the in-betweens,
that most of our life happens.

This is what I strive to celebrate.

Have you chosen a focus or a
word for the year ahead?

My word for 2015 is forward.

I've had a number of dreams on
hold ~ dreams that are knocking
louder and louder, craving
exposure to the light.

To move forward.

So while I attend to the cacophony
of these dreams in 2015, my posts here
will be shorter, but more frequent.

I certainly hope you'll continue to
share these in-betweens with me.

It's going to be a splendid ride.

Maybe the good stuff isn't ahead
of us or behind us.  Maybe it's
somewhere in between.

I love beautiful rides...I'm in with you, Suzanne! I'm looking forward to what is in store here. :) More frequent? YES! You have a beautiful way of making an impact with few words! It is one of the things that drew me to your blog originally...because...I am a "wordy" person. ;)

May you have a wonderful weekend.

Living in the in-betweens is what it's all about! Love your "word" for 2015! Mine is "explore". I'm looking forward to reading more from you in 2015, my friend!

There's something wise and calm about recognizing the life that happens in that in-between space. It's a lovely metaphor for those small moments that we need to relish. I'm so glad this is the year you've chosen to move forward toward your dreams. I can certainly relate. And I look forward to reading your blog and possibly learning more.

So glad you are taking steps 'forward,' Suzanne! Making our dreams come true is so exciting! Can't wait to see what lies ahead for you. My One Little Word is present ~ mindful of 'being in the moment.' I think it will be my most challenging word yet! Here's to a wonderful year ahead! ♡

Beautiful post. I didn't pick a word but it should be purge. All the things that weigh me down: stuff but also attitudes, people, things like that too.

Yes. I so get it.

And that is what I am going to do. Go forward. Blogging however, is where I do live, making connections that are more important to me than anything. However, I find myself IN BETWEEN one conundrum and another. I want to write, to write SERIOUSLY, and that takes time. I have been spending too much time on my blog that seriously, my imagination has outgrown. No snobbery here, just my truth.

Suzanne, I wish you well. I also thank you for taking the time to visit. I will still be around to comment and visit, and I will leave up my blog, for it is a memorial to a wonderful seven years of my creative life. MUCH LOVE TO YOU. See you in Minnetonka, perhaps? Anita

my favorite writer wrote something on FB today that echoed this 'in between' notion. something about when are we going to start living fully and to stop pushing 'snooze?' it truly resonates with me. i don't want to keep numbing myself, distracting myself (even with pleasures), and snoozing when there is a full life to live in FORWARD motion. i am unsure what my word is for the year. possibly FULLNESS. thank you for your reflective nature, suzanne. you elevate the role of blogger for us all by being so thoughtful and artistically engaging in posts like these. your site is a place of meditative tranquility, and i honor it. peace from tropical paradise.

I will be right with you, along on the journey of the "in between". And, whether you share long posts, or short posts, I will be there, because most of my life is lived in the "in between" too. You do an outstanding job of sharing beauty along the way! Actually, your way of blogging makes me totally forget that it is the "in between" that you are sharing:) Looking forward to every post you share, and the photography with which you share them.
