The White Witch,
said Edmund, Who
is she?
She is a perfectly
terrible person, said
Lucy. She calls herself
the Queen of Narnia,
though she has no
right to be queen at all.....
And she has made a
magic so that it is always
winter in Narnia ~
always winter, but it
never gets to Christmas.
And she drives about
on a sledge, drawn by
reindeer, with her wand
in her hand and a crown
on her head.
Not know the Queen
of Narnia? Ha! You
shall know us better
hereafter.
~ White Witch
The Queen let another
drop fall from her bottle
on to the snow, and
instantly there appeared
a round box, tied with
green silk ribbon....
I've felt for hours
there was some
wonderful mystery
hanging over this
place.
~ Lucy
Aslan? said Mr. Beaver.
Why, don't you know?
He's the King. He's the
Lord of the whole wood....
I've come at last, said
he. She has kept me
out for a long time, but
I have got in, at last.
Aslan is on the move.
The Witch's magic is
weakening.
~ Father Christmas
It means, said Aslan,
that though the Witch
knew the Deep Magic,
there is a magic deeper
still, that she did not
know.
Once a king or
queen of Narnia,
always a king or
queen of Narnia.
May your wisdom
grace us until the
stars rain down
from the heavens.
~ Aslan
May the rest
of your winter
be filled with
the Deep Magic.
of your winter
be filled with
the Deep Magic.
xx

Absolutely fabulous pictures....truly took my breath away and made me love winter all over again!
How lovely, Suzanne. Your eye for capturing an image is wonderful...I love the melted droplet of snow on the end of the branch and the moon suspended in a blush winter sky in the last photo! Just beautiful - so glad you linked them up to B&As this month my friend! Have a happy weekend!
Your photos are beautiful winter magic and go perfectly with the words from The Chronicles of Narnia. The deer has captured my heart.
Beautiful post and photos. I'm new to pinning and I just pinned your lovely urn with the perfect circle of snow on top and the darling snow dressed statuary. I hope I did it correctly and your post was recognized. I named my board winter. Thank you for lovely feelings when I read your posts and view your photos.
Holly, I have come to your beautiful blog via Ivy Clad and I am SO happy I did. I love the poetry of winter (not always the colds and viruses that come hand and hand with this season's magic) and you have married The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe perfectly with the beautiful pictures.
Thank you.
Stephanie
Your photos are gorgeous and I love The Chronicles of Narnia. Hopefully The White Witch will disappear soon and the magic of Spring will arrive at our doorsteps.
Enjoy your weekend!
xoxo
Just magical my dear Suzanne~~~magical!!!
hugs...
aaahhhh....talk to me in narnia language all the day long
xo
beautiful post my friend
Lovely photos to match the beautiful words of C.S. Lewis. So glad that Aslan wins in the end.
We got a tiny speck of winter here, too.
Fondly,
Glenda
What beautiful photos, Suzanne! You really have captured the magic of winter! Everytime I see a streetlight along a trail in the snow, I think of Narnia... See you soon! XO
Even in the middle of winter, magic is always in my heart dear one. Each season is seasoned with a different flavor, that's all! Anita
Oh girlie...those pics are magical. Love the
enchanted garden in the distance
Stunning post, dear Suzanne! You photos are just gorgeous. I loved the trees after that snowfall the other day..so magical. You put it all together with Narnia beautifully...what gifts you have!
The deer is darling!

Thank you for taking the trip to the lush countryside with me :)
Probably my most favorite of your posts so far. Just beautiful. I hope you're right that it IS winter's last magic...after all, this is Minnesota! And we have to get through March Madness yet! We've had a mild one though, and I was sure I felt spring in the air during my walk today.
My favorite stories and beautiful pictures to match!
Glad you were able to capture that dazzling whiteness, I don't think we would know what to do with all that here.
Hugs!
Biz
A glorious celebration of the winter wonderland in your pocket of the world Suzanne and I just adore your matches with "TLW&W".
Happy day, may it be filled with snuggling and comfort.

What stunning photos! We have had very little winter ourselves... hope that we have very little heat this summer but, I'm sure that's wishful thinking. Thank you for sharing the wonderf of Narnia & for stopping by to visit me. Charlene
Beautiful Suzanne. The pictures, the words, the thoughts. Loved it all. xxoo
Wonderfulness itself! My favorite quote from LWW...(I hope I'm not botching it too badly)
speaking of Aslan:
"Is He...safe?"...
"no dearie...but He is *good*"
thanks for the magic, Suzanne...
Liz
Glorious photos showing winter as it should be in all her frosty glory. We however have rain and greyness this year, not half as uplifting as the magic purity of snow.
Oh wow! Way to one-up me! Your winter photos are SO MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL than mine. I love this, and the reminder of Narnia. Gorgeous.
Boy......your pictures are stunning! You are certainly mastering this craft of photography. Congrats! Beautiful post....
Let's face it-- winter CAN be beautiful. We just need to intentionally look for it. Thanks for the glimpses through your eyes, and the wonderful, hopefilled words from C. S. Lewis. Have a great week, Suzanne.
Great photos Suzanne! Missing snow here, send some our way please!

Beautiful post!
Enchanting post! I love the merging of your beautiful photos with the text from a great classic book. The images and words have transported me to another place and time.
Truly enchanting!
Truly glorious photos, Suzanne!! I love the little statuary covered in snow.
I'm anxious for Spring...and probably more so b/c it's just cold. No snow. So strange. But, that's just what we got this year. Most of us are looking over our shoulders wondering if we'll have an April frost.
Love seeing winter through your eyes!!
xoxo Elizabeth
Your post is absolutely magical just as the book and movie are. How do you do it? Seriously!

Those are beautiful, magical photos, Suzanne. I don't think I've recently gazed at photos as long as I gazed at these...
Love it. C S Lewis was amazing in his writing of this story...It was definitely NOT just for children...I love the way he took the magic and mystery and pulled you right into the land of Narnia. And when you know the TRUE story that many say Lewis set out to parallel it makes it that much more meaningful...the DEEP magic of such an amazing sacrificial LOVE. Thank you for a post that brings the story back to your visitors as we continue through Winter's journey in our own back yards. The photos are fantastic Suzanne. A beautiful post, dear bloggy sister.... :-) xo
Love that little doe you caught!
You've made me fall in love with the snow all over again Suzanne. Good thing because I think we're finally about to get some. :) xoxo ~Lili
