Merry {Monday} Moments

Eight voices laughing.

Eight voices singing.

Eight voices oohing.

Eight voices aahing.

This is SO cute!

I love those!

How sweet is that?

No one was 

worried about

ACTs or grades

boys or dates
college anxieties

calories or skin woes

work or responsibilities.

For one very cozy

Saturday afternoon,

with snow falling

gently outside the

windows, eight 11th

grade girls were just

that ~ girls reveling

in the start of the 

most wonderful time

of the year.

With Pandora belting out

 tunes in the background,

they made their own

winter garden of felt

and paper blossoms

for adorning packages,

barrets and rooms.

Oh, I love this song!

was a comment laced

throughout the afternoon.

Several were coming from

other activities and, in

typical teen style, were

starving!

We served yummy hot

hors devours from Trader

Joes {mushroom turnovers,

palmiers and phyllo cups

filled with feta and caramelized

onions}, all a big hit, as
were cupcakes for dessert.

Songs sparked very
unsophisticated 
conversations.....


I always cry when
I watch Rudolph or
Santa Claus is Coming
to town.

{LOVED that!}

To keep tummies warm 

as they crafted and created,

we had a hot chocolate bar, with

homemade marshmallows, 

whipped cream, various sprinkles,

 and candy cane stir sticks.

My daughter, Elizabeth,

had tried the crafts ahead

of time, so she patiently

instructed and assisted all of

her friends along the way.

My heart swelled with 

pride at the ease of her

hospitality : )

The girls posed for a group

photo before diving into the

candy bar and heading to

the basement to watch one
of their favorite movies, Elf.  

More easy laughter drifted

up the stairs as they snuggled

under blankets.  Many of

the girls recited lines right

along with the movie!

Moving quietly in the 

kitchen, tidying up dishes

and loading them into

the dishwasher, I let the

dancing snowflakes and

the merry giggles envelope

me like a hug.

Yes, I thought, it truly is

beginning to look ~ and
sound ~ a lot

like

Christmas!
