from a wonderful
extra-long weekend
trip.....
My mom's gift
to me ~
Each year we
meet somewhere
fun
and indulge
our whims
for a few
precious days
together.
headed south....
South-WEST,
that is ~
San Antonio, Texas
was our base
for two day trips....
The first, to the
north-east, the little
town of New Braunfels,
where we
meandered
through some great
antique malls.
I bought a pair
of well-loved
cowboy boots ~
**$16.50!!**
With some amour
from Bob the Shoe
Man, they will be
perfection!!
I also bought some
turquoise Fiesta Ware
for the collection
pleasure of whiling
away the afternoon
with over lunch.
Elizabeth was a breath
of fresh air ~ one
of my younger blog
simpaticos who I
just love. Beautiful
inside and out....
full of hopes and
dreams for her future....
She was exactly as
I'd imagined her.
If only one could adopt
a younger sister ~
she'd be mine : )
{Sending you hugs,
{Sending you hugs,
Biz!!}
took us due-north
to that hallowed Texas
Hill Country town that
we'd read so much about...
{Cue harps here}:
Fredericksburg!
cutest little houses and
shops, but one of my most-
admired bloggers, as well.
2000th {!!!} follower mark,
warm Texas soil : )
With a heart as big
as the Lone Star State,
Annie was our gracious
guide for the whole
afternoon and into the
evening, sharing her
favorite shops, her soon-
to-be {gorgeous} church
and giving us a tour of
her new ranch....
So much charm
that it will have its
own dedicated post, soon!
that it will have its
own dedicated post, soon!
She even treated us to
lunch and an excursion
to that wild west outpost,
Lukenbach, Texas!
{Thank you, girlie; you
are the best!}
together, my mom and
I enjoyed lengthy talks,
punctuated by
laughs
long walks
hugs
shopping
movies
and 'lots of good
Southern iced tea!
Time. Texas style.
and some of my heart ~
Landed in 38 degrees
and melting traces of snow.
Eek!
But a warm welcome
awaited me from my
little family at home.
I feel so blessed.
can carve a little
Texas Time for
yourselves over the
weekend.....
I highly recommend it!

Sending you all
heaps of Easter love,

Sounds like a simply wonderful trip with your lovely mom!! And what fun to meet up with some blogging buddies - it's amazing how this online world connects you with so many wonderful people. It was surprisingly cold today - so craving some of that Texas warmth!
What a fantastic time you had. I so envy you for having the chance to slip away with your mom every once in awhile for your little excursions. How I'd love that. Make every minute count {but you know that}.
I enjoyed all of your pictures and how lovely it was that you were able to meet some fellow bloggers. I really enjoy Anne's blog and look forward to your upcoming post!
Wishing you a happy Easter, Suzanne!

What fun!
What a lovely trip you've had! It's been several years since I've been to Texas, but plan to go back again sometime. My college roommate lives there and Kate's godfather (his wife is my dear friend), so I'll get back there sometime. In the meantime, I'm inspired by your wonderful trip with your Mom. That's the kind of tradition I would love to establish with Kate.
Best,
Susan
