1.
Welcome to the last post
of Ten for Tuesdays.
For those of you just
joining me, I have been
writing about my Intro
to Digital Photography
class and sharing my
homework assignment,
each week.
2.
For those of you who
aren't really interested in
photography tips, thank
you for reading, anyway!
It has been so helpful
for me to review the
concepts in each week's
lesson by creating these
posts and I am very
grateful to those that
of you who left me such
encouraging comments.
I love this blogging world!
3.
The assignment for our
last week was to take
pictures that you could
use to make a card that
you would send to a
friend to celebrate the
end of winter.
4.
We could use text, but
our teacher said that it
would need to be considered
in the overall composition,
meaning there needed to
be space for the text.
5.
Ironically, I'd received a set
of beautiful photo note cards
in the mail the day before
class from sweet Kat at
Low Tide, High Style, who
has started selling them
in her etsy shop.
| Such a talented photographer! |
So, armed with inspiration
from Kat and buoyed up
by temps that flirted with
the high 40's last week,
I set out to capture images
that showed my longing for
spring and my intent to wish
winter adios!
6.
I did add text to a few
of the images; my next
frontier is going to be
learning about and playing
with textures.
7.
My sweet mom was here last
week, helping me get a
few projects finished. As
a thank you, I am going
to have a set of photo cards
made up for her.
three more sets for three
Privet and Holly readers.
Simply leave me a
comment, letting me
know which image you
would like to have as
as set of note cards.
I'll use random.org and
select the recipients
over the weekend.
9.
Comically, we woke up
to an additional 17 inches
of snow yesterday. Mother
Nature has a funny sense
of humor....

Your photos would be a welcomed surprise tucked inside an envelope. The tulips are just gorgeous! You deserve an A+ on this assignment.

Good morning Suzanne!
You are capturing amazing shots!!!
I love them all to tell you the truth!
But #6 is my favourite!
I too want to welcome spring soooo bad!
Is it just us, or do you get the feeling that everybody everywhere is longing for the same? lol
I've appreciated all your posts on learning ...
there seems to be so much to learn!
Have a great week dear, and hoping that snow thats blanketed your place will leave as quickly as it came...
Fondly,
Deborah xoxoxoxo :)
Suzanne,
All your photos (your entire series) have touched me and I've enjoyed this little journey with you. I only wish I had learned as much as you have about photography! Today I'm going to choose Photo 5 as my favorite. It reminds me a bit of my home here in East Tennessee.
Best,
Susan
Your photographs are beautiful, Suzanne!
I need to go back and read through your posts... being on vacation, I have fallen behind in everything. Plus I realized during said vacation, that I have so much to learn about my camera!;)
I hope you are staying safe and warm from the ice and snow. Spring can appear anytime now!;))
Hugs to you!
Melanie
It is hard to believe that this class is coming to an end already! Time is fleeting, yes? I would be thrilled to own a set of your note cards. My favorite is the one of the tulips and the bike. You are a generous lady!
These pictures are amazing Suzanne. I especially love the picture of the tulips and the old shed. I imagine you graduated top of the class. Well done and what a great series of posts this has been. Thank you for sharing! Lx
Suzanne, I have enjoyed this series so much and look forward to seeing your own photos in the future. You really have a talent and you have encouraged me to try to figure out my camera at long last! (I've had it forever but always only used the auto setting).
How lovely of you to offer notecards....all your images are beautiful, but I do love the one of the bike.
So sorry to hear you have more snow, hope the sunshine comes out and melts it all away!
suzanne, those images are all perfect for cards. i bet you had so much fun in that class. it's always nice to learn something. that's a lot more snow. we just got a dusting. i am so over snow.
The pink tulips are beautiful. It is hard to choose from so many that I enjoyed.
Fondly,
Glenda

Wow these photos are very charming, and make me wish for spring :) You sure are good with that camera! I've enjoyed watching your lessons evolve through your posts. The cards are a great idea. Hope spring comes your way soon.
Blessings

Good morning, Suzanne!
Such beautiful to be found here today...I've really enjoyed these photography posts...it's been wonderful to share your learning journey with you.
What a generous offer! Such beautiful images...how to choose?! I think my favorite, though, is #7...(and the shed, and the coat with the flower.....!)
Hoping the snow melts soon and that spring arrives quickly at your door...
Have a wonderful day, my friend!
Julie
I am so sad to see this series end. You have done remarkable work. Your photos are amazing and I look forward to seeing more of them in all your future posts.
All of your images make wonderful cards. I especially love #5 & #8.
I did hear on the news that your area got quite a bit more snow. Enough! You deserve to have a beautiful spring and summer.
Our mountains had lots of snow too.
I took pictures on my walk the other day but only had my point & shoot with me so pics aren't great but by the time I drove to the ocean I had my slr so pics are better. Here's to an early spring for all!!!
Bring on Spring!
I'm ready for the Texas Bluebonnets and warm weather! Sunshiny days and open toe shoes ;)
Biz
I love your blog and love these pics. I would have to pick #7 : ) Thanks for sharing.
Hallmark should be calling you! You are an amazing photographer. Love #4 tulips! Spring is buried somewhere under the last foot of snow we got last night.
xo Cathy
I LOVE number 6. The colours and composition are beautiful.
I lost my memory card at my class the other day - it was one of those really expensive eye-fi ones that geo-tags your photos. :(
You are really amazing!
Mary Ann
PS. I had a one on one digital phot. class at the Apple store and it really helped.
Great job on the photos! I know you feel more confident now. I would like to take a hands on class soon. I have a thing for flower pictures and now I am focusing on people...real people...they are the hardest for me...thanks for sharing all you learned...
More gorgeous photos Suzanne! Your classes have definitely paid off for all of us. ;)
PS- love that first picture of you in your post from last week.
xo~

Hi Suzanne, I especially love numbers 4, 5, and 7. I have learned a lot from your lessons. One day perhaps I will make peace with my new camera. hugs♥O

thanks suzanne, for your inspiration....
hugs, cindy
I have SO loved this series of posts that you've done. I'm going to miss them!!!
Gorgeous captures, my friend!
Hugs,
Anne
Hi! Just popping in quickly to let you know how much I have missed reading your blog. Have been swamped with work and have been neglecting my blogging friends, and have missed so much. Your photography class sounds really exciting - and fun!
Caron
Suzanne,
I love the first one and the one with the cherub in the snow singing "Hello? Spring?" made me laugh! I would buy that card in a store in a heartbeat!
I think your photos are getting so good...nice for the blog...even nicer for your readers!
xo,
~R
Oh, this may be my favorite series yet!!! OK....is it completely predictable and boring to say the shot of those pink tulips has my name on them?! :)
As we rec'd another layer of snow...I just remind myself that my tulips bulbs are safer in winter under a layer of snow. So....until it melts, I'll make due with your photo!
xo elizabeth
The flower on the coat lapel says it all. Oh, and the bicycle... it shouts spring is on the way.
Di
Dear Suzanne,
I love #1; the tulips, lace and bare legs against the snowy background are a lovely composition--that picture actually gave me goosebumps! (The good kind!)
Love your blog--
Lee
These are all just beautiful, Suzanne! We need some thoughts of spring right now! My favorite is #1!
I love the bicycle with the tulips and the snow! You are doing so well! I love the challenges. I am going to have to follow and do the same as I seem to be in a photo slump! More snow?!? We had 80 degree weather yesterday and today! I am so spoiled! I don't know if I could ever go back to cold climates!!! Stay warm friend!
These are really great!! Love the farmhouse - adorable XOL
They are all lovely. You are quite a photographer.
Your photos and your learning journey have all been amazing. I cannot imagine a winter with snow like that - we think it is freezing when our winters reach 2 and 3 degrees celsius. The coldest I have had in the city where we live is minus 3 celsius.
That said, I love No 8 and the range of words for spring - beautiful!
Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful Suzanne! Love all the photos, they're gorgeous . . . but then again I'd expect nothing else. Youa re so very talented! xxoo
Suzanne, I love everything you do. I especially like that BIKE! You are now going to take off on your own, I know it! What do you have planned for your spring portfolio? It will be dynamic! NOW IF WE COULD JUST GET RID OF THE SNOW!!!!
Have a creative day dearest, Anita
well hello there!!
i came over because i read a comment you left on Acanthus and Acorn.
what's the deal with the hand held scanner????
which brand???
BTW love the tulips,
and the bike pic.

I have loved this series - so sorry to see it end!
Sorry to see this little series end - have enjoyed learning with you and seeing your beautiful shots. And seeing what you've presented here, you've done well!! What a difficult choice - they are all lovely but I think 4 and 6 are my favorites!!
Good afternoon Suzanne, They are all so lovely, I couldn't choose. You obviously learned quite a lot in your class, because you are very good. Are you disappointed that it's over? I can't believe you just got that much more snow!!Hello Spring, for sure!
Hi Suzanne,
I hope you take another class to share with us. I have really enjoyed learning from you and seeing how you beautifully interpret things through your lens. You're wonderfully talented with both your words and pictures ~
spring IS on its way ... I heard a robin this morning ~
Those are quite breathtaking. Spring is surely captured in those photos making it more nostalgic for winter. Great choice.
thanks for this tips
I love this!!!!
happy Thursday!!!
xo,
LuLu
boy those classes went by fast....for me;) your teacher must be genius, as your photos are beau. ti. ful. i love them all. but, #6 is enough of a tease for me to really fall for the idea that indeed spring isn't so far away.
xoxo
What great photos! LOVE all of them!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
Suzanne, when you are ready, I think you must print any or all of these. They are simply beautiful and if I had to pick a favorite, I simply couldn't. I have had wonderful luck getting printed notecards online, and postcards, too. You really should consider it -- they would be wonderful gifts and who knows -- maybe even something to market? (I am quite serious here, not being an effusive blog buddy.)
Suzanne dear,
You're GOOD. Love the images and I laughed about your need for spring and flirting with spring.
Thanks for this wonderful posting.
Yes, this blogging world is beyond words. I love the friends I've made through the years.
All joys across the miles,

Love your pictures; really top quality. Wish I could turn out pics like that. I'd love the "Sweet Bird." It has taken a lot of suet and seed to keep the birds happy this winter, particularly during our snow event, which shut the city down for the better part of a week. My town is never really prepared for snow, much less a one inch layer of ice on top.
Keep up the great work as I love to follow your blog.
you made me laugh with your Hello? spring? That is so cute! love the spring in different languages! that is clever! But my fave is probably the bike.
I've really enjoyed your series and think you could definitely be selling your lovely prints! I love the shed and the tulips with the bike. xo
Outstanding Suzanne! And what a very cool assignment. I love #1 and #3!!! How much fun that you are going to have them made up into notecards. This is a great giveaway idea. We are getting so much snow tonight, wet heavy snow with lots of wind. Dreaming of Spring! xo ~Lili
Those would all make wonderful notecards Suzanne. You have really impressed me with your photography. Do you plan to take it further? I still need to go back and read your old posts on this and spend some time with my camera (even though it is only a point and shoot).
I can't wait to see those projects.
-Rene
The end of the series? Noooooo......!!!
It was a great series and I was so impressed and inspired by your photography. Seriously.
If I was lucky enough to win, I'd definitely pick number 4. Gorgeous!
Sarahx
The first photo is my FAVORITE!!! Love it.
Those are awesome Suzanne. Did you take the barn that said goodbye winter?? LOVED that one:)
