My daughter and
I returned
home
from Savannah
last night.
It was an
amazing and
special week
on so very
many
levels.
But before
I can write
more
about that ~
I've got to
take care of
loads
of
this:
So, while
I'm busy doing
laundry
and bills
making lists
groceries
camps
doctor appointments
I will introduce
you to some
of the little
things that
I missed
right here
at home....
Hello cozy bed
What's cooking, pantry?
I've missed you, comfy chair!
{And my little dog, too!}
Shower, you know me
so well.....
Books, you
read my mind....
Teapot
Four o'clock
you and me
All of the
pretties
that sing to me....
.....Like my vintage
trophy collection.....
.....And gifts from
nature I like
to scatter around...
But
the things
that I missed
the most
weren't
things
at all.
It was
them.
Oh, but anyway, Toto, we're home.
Home! And this is my room, and you're all here.
And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again,
because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em -
there's no place like home!

You're right, there's no place like home. It is our sanctuary and our respite and our heaven on earth. I'm so glad you're safely home with your cherished things and loved ones.

Welcome home! Your things are lovely indeed and well worth missing but how happy you must be to love and adore the things that really matter.
Your trophy collection is wonderful. So hard to find those around here.
Sometimes the most satisfying part of a journey is coming home and smelling that special 'home' smell, and appreciating all of the little things that you usually take for granted!
girl, you're reading my mind ... I'm DONE for the summer ... home
...done with farm sales, done with photo shoots, done with everything except, the garden,
my honey and HOME!
stop over for a chat
So glad you're home safely. I can't wait to hear all about
scad and all of sparrow's adventures.
I know how you feel. I'm always ready to get home to my own bed, my own chair and my own kitchen. I love to visit my family who live away, and I probably would like to see a few more exotic places, but I love coming back home! Glad you're back, and I'm eage to see your upcoming posts.
Hi Suzanne,
It must feel great to be home and back w/ your family!! I always miss mine so much when we're apart. There truly is no place like home! :)

Glad you had a great trip and yes, coming home is the best part (well, if I didn't have to go to the office tomorrow that is...). Your house is beautiful - love the trophies, the comfy chair, the little dog(!), everything!

Feeling it right along with you. Thanks for sharing all the warm fuzzies that rise up when we return to our haven away from the hustle and bustle - our own little sacred spot where we best recline and find comfort from the outside world...
Love that quote and movie. It's why I have a little pair of red sparkle shoes on display...I only have to glance at them and feel the meaning. Hugs! enjoyed my visit.
Ahhhhh.... so sweet. What a beautiful family you all make. I'm sure they missed you more, just look how clean they left the house! You are the blessed one :)

Oh, yes! Coming home is the best part of being away in some ways!
I love this post! And in a couple days, you'll see one similar as I return to our cottage. I wrote it this morning, hit prepost because it's a heck of a week. But in it I speak of all the things I miss during the winter when we're not there! I love "thinking alike!"

PS. Thank you for your visits to my blog and your wonderful comments.
We travel so often across the pond and I agree - there's nothing like returning home to my bed that feels like meringue, my pretty things and the nature that surrounds our place. sigh. : )
You have some really lovely things! xx
Welcome home Suzanne~ we are on the same page with our posts...there's certainly no place like home!

Walking through the door after some time away is always so nice. And am I crazy or do you see your house a bit differently after some time away - it's all about walking in with a new perspective. Beautiful pics of you home...I can see why you missed it (and them:)
I know JUST how you feel, sista friend! When I'm away from home, like I was the past few days, I miss all my pretties, too. I even miss my non-pretties. There's nothing like your own bed, right?
Gorgeous photos, m'dear!
Missed you!
XOXO,
Anne
I love Savannah...but there is nothing as nice as coming home.
What a wonderful post Suzanne! As much as I love to take vacations, there really is no place like home. After being away, I love coming back to my own special place with all my special things - human, furbaby and all my pretties. It seems each time I return I see my home in a new perspective.
