| Courtesy of Country Living Life handed me lemons last week. {Well Trader Joe’s did.} So I created a lemon-y menu and prepared a luncheon for my yoga buddies. We started with pink sparkling lemonade in champagne glasses. I tossed two raspberries in each glass… Toasting spring, yoga...and lemonade For an amuse bouche {A fancy French word for "amuse the palate"} I made Lemon-Marscapone Stuffed Dates. They were lovely with the lemonade! We started with Avgolemeno Soup-- that’s Greek for Egg-Lemon Chicken Soup. The main attraction was Heirloom Grain Salad {spinach, quinoa, red pepper, avocado, asparagus, palm hearts, provolone and parmigiano-reggiano cheese} with Lemon Vinaigrette, naturally. Served with an Indian bread called Naan. The grand finale was supplied by my dear friend Margaret…. Cake from Buttercream Collections A cake called the Raspberry Royale-- white cake filled with white and raspberry mousses and fresh raspberries…. Which we relished with a hot cup of tea. Good thing we all exercise! |

Thank you so much for your lovely visits and compliments. The suggestion of free-lance house stager had my head twirling...I would love to do that! But I don't really know how to go about it...I will be looking into it though. One thing I am realizing in all this job hunting/life change season is that I am much more interested in pursueing my art(which includes home decorating), rather than teaching or nutrition(my degree)...unless I get a job at a health food market! I did apply for Trader Joes even, but they are not currently hiring. An even bigger health food market from S. Cali is coming to my city this Autumn and I will be applying for part-time work there. Now on to your post...
Sounds like a wonderful day of good healthy eating with friends. I just began yoga last summer and really love it. I only go to gentle yoga once a week. I walk the treadmill 1 hour/day and lift wts. twice a week...trying to get back into shape after 15 yrs. and 4 children. I used to be an avid runner(10-15 miles/day) and rowed on the crew team in college. I biked long distance too. I would like to get in good enough shape to run 5 or 10k races again. And I want to continue yoga for the rest of my life.
I just home from Trader Joes myself. Will be making homemade pizza with spinach, mushrooms, and sundried tomatoes this weekend. Have a lovely one. Did you find your garden gloves?!!
Oh I love that you eat so healthy and practice yoga! The Heirloom grain salad sounds wonderful with all those ingredients...but that cake really really really caught my eye. Yum city! Oh and I do love your music over here, but I suspect your husband may be on to something that I didn't even think about. Yikes! ~Lili

The luncheon was springy and lemony and a true work of art and thoughtfulness. It's always a pleasure to be in your home.
